Aluminium

Aluminum is not a plant nutrient, and in fact, Al^3+ in the soil solution is toxic to most plants. Aluminum is one of the most abundant elements present in soil, being a constituent of silicate clays and other minerals.

In neutral and alkaline soils, Al minerals are highly insoluble, but in acid soils, dissolved Al^3+ concentration rises to toxic levels. For plants, Al toxicity is often the most serious adverse effect of soil acidity.
